Rory Kurtz made this Ghost in the Shell print for the CODA screening at Mass MiniCon last week, where the regular and both variants sold at the event across the weekend. Spoke Art put the leftovers up in a surprise drop yesterday and there wasn’t much to go around, and today’s general release at 1PM ET is whatever remains after that, so the real numbers are anyone’s guess. Kurtz doesn’t do many prints, and after his Bram Stoker’s Dracula piece last year this is another argument for grabbing whatever he touches. The image pulls from the film’s famous birth sequence, Motoko shedding her shell, and it already picked up Art of the Week over on ExpressoBeans. It deserves it. The drop goes live today at 1PM ET on the Spoke Art website.
