Bottleneck’s Noriyoshi Ohrai continues today, and if you missed Wave 1 back in October, here’s the low-down on what you missed. Ohrai painted the theatrical posters that defined the Heisei era of Godzilla, and Bottleneck Gallery has been restoring and releasing them as official screen prints with Toho’s backing. This is the same artist whose international poster for The Empire Strikes Back made him a know poster artist outside of Japan. His Godzilla paintings carry that same identical scale and fury. Wave 2 is comprised of three heavy hitters from the franchise: Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II from 1993, Godzilla vs. Destoroyah from 1995 and Megaguirus vs. Godzilla from the 2000 Millennium era. Each painting comes in four editions, regular and Holo Foil screen prints of the full theatrical poster plus art print editions of each. Everything drops today at 12PM ET via Bottleneck Gallery.
