Few shows have burrowed into the internet’s brain like I Think You Should Leave, Tim Robinson and Zach Kanin’s Netflix sketch series about people who refuse to absorb even one ounce of social embarrassment. What started in 2019 as a quiet six-episode oddity became a full-blown meme economy, and the six sketches Sarah Sumeray picked for this Bottleneck Gallery set are pillars of the canon. Sumeray cerates pop culture as vintage halftone comics, and it’s a perfect gag here: the show’s most unhinged meltdowns redrawn with the wholesome innocence of a Sunday funnies page, speech bubbles and all. She’s been busy lately with Sinners and Dracula, but this is her first crack at the ITYSL universe, and it lands at Bottleneck just like Dave Perillo’s take did a few years back.
