Bottleneck Gallery goes live with a two-print drop today at 12PM ET, and it’s a pairing that feels a little strange at first in the best way: one image is all ancient biomechanical dread, the other is quiet fantasy on an open hillside. Carlos Huante’s Alien piece focuses on the Engineers’ Space Jockey, locked into that curved pilot chair with all the tubing, ribs, and fossil-like machinery wrapped around the figure in dark green-gray tones. It’s not an action scene at all, which is why it works so well; the print leans into the eerie stillness of that discovery, where the body and the ship seem fused into one dead monument. Then Greg Ruth shifts completely in the other direction with his Knight of the Seven Kingdoms print, drawn from the Game of Thrones spinoff, showing the Hedge Knight mounted beneath a broad tree while a small bald child in a heavy cloak stands at the horse’s side. The whole piece is built in soft graphite-like values, with pale sky, distant hills, and rough foreground rock doing a lot of the storytelling, giving Dunk and Egg a grounded, almost storybook presence without losing that worn Westeros feel. Two very different worlds, two artists who clearly know exactly what kind of mood they’re after, and both prints will be available when Bottleneck opens sales this afternoon.
