This Privacy Policy describes how Poster Pirate LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you visit posterpirate.co (the "Site"), read our articles, subscribe to our newsletter, contact us, or purchase from our shop (collectively, the "Services").

1. What information do we collect?
Information you provide to us
Contact form. When you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, and the content of your message. The form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile (a privacy-focused CAPTCHA alternative), and your message is delivered to our inbox via Brevo, our transactional email provider.
Newsletter. When you subscribe we collect your email address, which is stored with Mailchimp, our email marketing provider. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link.
Purchases. When you buy from our shop, checkout is operated by Shopify. Shopify collects your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number (if provided), and payment information on our behalf. We receive the order details (what you bought, where to ship it, how to contact you) but never your full payment card number, which goes directly to the payment processor you choose (Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, or Venmo).
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we automatically receive standard technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referring page, and timestamps. This comes from our analytics (Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager), and from the server logs of our hosting provider, Cloudflare. Site images are delivered through Cloudflare's CDN, which processes IP addresses as part of serving content.
2. How do we use your information?
- To fulfill orders: processing payment, shipping your prints, sending order confirmations and shipping notifications, and handling any order issues.
- To respond to you when you contact us.
- To send the newsletter you subscribed to (drop news and shop updates). You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To operate and improve the Site: understanding which articles and prints people are interested in, keeping the Site fast and secure, and preventing spam and abuse.
- To comply with law: tax, accounting, and legal obligations connected to running a business.
3. When and with whom do we share your information?
We share personal information only with the service providers that make the Services work, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Shopify: shop checkout, order management, and payments (privacy policy). Payment methods at checkout are processed by Shopify Payments, Shop Pay, PayPal, Google Pay, or Venmo per their own policies.
- Brevo: delivers contact form messages to our inbox (privacy policy).
- Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC): stores our newsletter list and sends our emails (privacy policy).
- Google: Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager for site analytics (privacy policy).
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery, and Turnstile bot protection (privacy policy).
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a sale or reorganization of the business. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
4. Cookies and tracking technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes: essential operation (your shopping cart, your cookie-consent choice) and analytics (Google Analytics 4, which uses cookies to distinguish visitors and measure how the Site is used, including approximate location and pages viewed). For visitors in the EU, UK, and similar jurisdictions, analytics is off by default and our consent banner lets you accept or decline it; declining does not affect your ability to browse or buy, and you can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. When you make a choice, we store it in a first-party cookie and keep a consent record containing a timestamp, your choice, the policy version, your country, and a salted one-way hash (we do not store your IP address in that record). Shopify sets its own cookies during checkout for cart and fraud-prevention purposes.
5. How long do we keep your information?
- Contact form messages: kept in our email inbox as long as needed to handle your inquiry and for our records.
- Newsletter subscription: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Order records: retained in Shopify for as long as required for tax, accounting, warranty, and legal purposes.
- Analytics data: Google Analytics event data is retained per our GA4 settings, then deleted or aggregated.
6. How do we keep your information safe?
The Site is served entirely over HTTPS. Payment processing is handled by PCI-DSS-compliant processors, and we never store card details. Access to our provider dashboards (Shopify, Brevo, Mailchimp, Cloudflare, Google) is limited and protected. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Do we collect information from minors?
The Services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at info@posterpirate.co and we will delete it.
8. International visitors
We are a US business and the Services are operated from the United States. If you visit or order from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US (and wherever our service providers operate), where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
9. What are your privacy rights?
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and you may unsubscribe from marketing at any time (every newsletter has an unsubscribe link). To exercise any right, email info@posterpirate.co. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising privacy rights.
10. US state privacy rights
Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia) may have specific rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of their personal information, and to opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising, and certain profiling.
We honor these rights for all visitors regardless of state. Because we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is functionally nothing to opt out of under those provisions; our practices align with Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals by default. California residents: the categories of information collected and the purposes are described in Sections 1–3; we have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months.
11. Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
